‘Justice for David & Daniel’: San Pedro Rallies for Justice 

Dozens of San Pedranos returned to the streets on Sunday to demand answers one week after businessman David David Harmouch and security guard Daniel Jones were gunned down inside Island Supermarket.

Several protesters marched through the streets of Ambergris Caye while some held banners calling for “Justice for David & Daniel”. Meanwhile, others carried photographs of Harmouch. It became the second public demonstration since the June 28th double murder.

Police continue to investigate the fatal shooting, with several persons of interest in police custody. However, no charges have been made.

The attack unfolded after four armed men stormed into the store and opened fire before fleeing the scene. Two other members of the Harmouch family were also injured.

Sunday’s march follows an earlier protest organised a week ago, which was led by members of Belize’s Lebanese community outside the San Pedro Police Station. The demonstrators at that time accused authorities of failing to prevent the violence.
