Agric Show Draws 37,800+ as Interest in Farming Grows

Belize’s biggest agricultural showcase is bouncing back. The 2026 National Agriculture and Trade Show pulled in more than thirty-seven, eight hundred visitors from April thirty to May third, about six thousand more than last year, signaling renewed momentum in the agriculture sector. Held in Belmopan, the event spotlighted smart, climate-resilient farming, and it showed. Vendors and booths jumped thirteen percent, marking the largest expansion in four years. Crowds also turned out for culture. The Cabalgata grew from just thirty-four riders last year to one hundred and fifty-six this year, with bands and floats adding to the energy. Agriculture Minister Rodwell Ferguson credited farmers, organizers, and partners for the success, while stressing the need for innovation to tackle climate challenges. The numbers are climbing, and so is national interest in Belize’s agricultural future.
