Bradley Responds to Third-Party Rumour Linking Him to Shyne
A Facebook page that presents itself as a news outlet claimed that Darrell Bradley is teaming up with Moses Shyne Barrow to form a third party for the 2030 general elections. Luke Martinez, Ashley Longford and Jeremy Enriquez, all named in the post, have publicly rejected the claim. We still put the question to Bradley: would he be open to leading a third party movement with Shyne by his side?”
Darrell Bradley, Former UDP Mayor
“I have not heard that, and so what I would say, though, is I am very close to members of the social partner movement. I have very good friends, personal friends who are in trade unions and religious organisations, and I have always welcomed the opportunity of social partner involvement in our political process. I think the idea of having social partner senators has been a very good move in our political system, and I think that should be expanded. To the extent that I think we perhaps need to move away from the PUDP regime, I think that is a good thing. I have been involved in politics in other countries where there is a multiparty system and that works quite effectively. And to the extent that I can be a part of the change, I am prepared to do that. And to the extent that UDP wants to lead the change, I am prepared to do that too. And if they don’t want to do that and others want to step up, one of the things I learned in life is that if you do not rise up and take the moment when you need to take the moment, other people will overrun you.”
Paul Lopez
“I think Mr. Luke Martinez came out and dispelled those reports saying he was not consulted, and I think the capable young lady Ashley Longford came out and dispelled those reports. But would you be willing to lead a third party with Shyne by your side?”
Darrell Bradley
“Well, I have had very active communications with Shyne. I have tremendous respect for him. But we have never thought about that. That is not something I have actually seen or given serious considerations for.”
