Byron Diaz Survives Weekend Shooting in Orange Walk
A dispute that had been brewing may have boiled over into gunfire in Orange Walk over the weekend. Police say Byron Diaz was inside a pickup truck with another man when two men on a motorcycle rode up alongside them and opened fire. Diaz was hit, but survived the attack and is now listed in stable condition at the hospital. Investigators have since detained two suspects, and according to Assistant Commissioner of Police Hilberto Romero, the shooting appears to be connected to an earlier conflict.
