Doris Grant Critically Injured in Early Morning Ambush

A late-night drive home from the Princess Hotel and Casino turned into a terrifying ambush for fifty-one-year-old Doris Grant, who police believe may have been targeted once again. Just after one this morning, gunmen opened fire on a black Nissan Titan pickup near the BelChina Bridge on Youth for the Future Drive. Businessman Austin Underwood was behind the wheel, with Grant and Colombian national Andres Orosco as passengers, when three armed men reportedly stepped out and sprayed the vehicle with bullets. Grant was hit several times and remains in critical condition at the K.H.M.H. after emergency surgery. Tonight, police say they are piecing together what led to the attack and whether it is connected to previous threats on her life. Assistant Commissioner of Police Hilberto Romero shares what investigators have uncovered so far.

“This morning police responded to a shooting incident at the Belchina Bridge. Upon their arrival, they learned that persons were in a vehicle and persons came and fired several shots towards the direction. The vehicle was driven to the Karl Heusner where Doris Grant was observed with several gunshot injuries. She is listed in a critical condition at this time. Information is that they were driving across the bridge when three male persons approached the vehicle and all three fired several shots towards the vehicle causing the injuries to Grant. She was along with Austin Underwood and Andres Orozco, a Colombian national. We are currently reviewing video footages and seeking persons in regards to this shooting.”
