Corozal College Staff Demand Finance Officer’s Removal
It’s been a turbulent week for education in Corozal. At the Corozal Community College, classrooms have now sat empty for a third straight day, as teachers escalate their protest with a sickout. The fallout has now spilled over to the Junior College, where staff are demanding the removal of its Finance Officer. They accuse him of creating a hostile work environment, withholding salaries, and abusing his position. In a strongly worded letter to the Board, staff say trust in his leadership has been “irreparably compromised.” Families and the community are anxiously waiting to see how the Board will respond.
