Crash Near Belize/Mexico Border Turns Fatal for Mexican National
A deadly collision near the Belize/Mexico border has claimed the life of a thirty-one-year-old Mexican national. Police say Nidia Hernandez was heading toward the border on a motorcycle when she crashed into a vehicle coming from the opposite direction. Now, investigators are piecing together the moments before impact to find out what caused the fatal accident.

“Police have issued notices of intended prosecution as a part of the ongoing investigation into the death of thirty-one-year-old Mexican Nidia Galdamez Hernandez which occurred at approximately nine forty p.m. on Sunday 26th July, 2026, near the Belize Mexico border. The investigation ahs disclosed that Hernandez was operating a motorcycle and heading towards Mexican border and traveling behind her was a green Chevrolet vehicle. It is alleged that Hernandez swerved into the opposite lane of traffic and collided into a Dodge Altitude that was coming in the opposite direction resulting in a collision and her being fatally injured. Urine samples have been extracted from drivers of both the vehicle as a part of the ongoing investigation.”
No charges have been levied against any of the drivers at this point.
