Would-Be Burglars Target Atlantic Bank ATM in Ladyville

A suspicious scene at an Atlantic Bank ATM in Ladyville may have stopped a burglary before the culprits could finish the job. Police say someone noticed unusual activity at the location last Thursday and alerted authorities. But when officers arrived, the would-be burglars had already fled, leaving investigators to determine how far they got and who was behind it. ASP Stacy Smith tells us what police discovered.

ASP Stacy Smith, Staff Officer

“I can confirm that on Thursday 23rd July, investigators were called out to the Atlantic Bank Ladyville Branch as there was information that a burglary occurred. A review of the building showed that nothing of significance were taken and the Scenes of Crime personnel were able to process the scene and lift a number of prints and the hope is that we will be able to ascertain exactly what occurred.”

“Is there any damaged property?”

ASP Stacy Smith

“Yes. The building was damaged, resulting in them gaining entry. But certainly I won’t be able to disclose how they did that.”

Police investigation into this matter continues.
