Deadly Collision Claims Motorcyclist’s Life in Orange Walk

A routine ride along Munoz Street ended in tragedy when a van reportedly turned into the path of an approaching motorcycle. Police say Lorenzo Castro suffered serious injuries in the collision and later died at the hospital. Investigators have since served the van’s driver, Antonio Novelo, with a Notice of Intended Prosecution, but they are still working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the crash and determine what happens next.

“On Thursday, there was a fatal road traffic accident in Orange Walk. Antonio Novelo was driving a white van when he collided with a motorcycle driven by Lorenzo Castro. Castro was taken for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries. An investigation is being carried out and a NIP was served on Novelo, urine sample obtained and we will compile a file and send it to the DDP for directives. The motorcycle collided with the van. The van turned a lane and the motorcycle collided into the van.”
