Thieves Beat Security in Second Blake Building Burglary

Not once, but twice in just two weeks, thieves have targeted a business inside the Blake Building on Eyre Street. This time, they escaped with cellular phones, laptops and tablets, even though security personnel were reportedly on the premises. The repeated break-ins have left residents and business owners on edge. Police are now examining surveillance footage in hopes of identifying those responsible. Assistant Commissioner of Police Hilberto Romero explains.

“On Sunday, Shanda Thompson reported that her business place was broken into in Belize City. She reported that the security alert her. She made checks inside her business establishment where several cellular phones, laptops and tablets were stolen. We are reviewing video footage and to see if we can identify any suspects. They have security there. The security guard reported he made checks and then discovered that the locks have been broken.”
