Delisha Estrada’s Family Condemns Viral Livestream
Residents have raised concerns over the disposal of bedding from the home where 21-year-old Delisha Estrada and her partner were found dead in San Ignacio. A resident showed items left outside the property during a social media livestream and called the scene a potential biohazard risk.
The 21-year-old mother was found dead in September along with her partner, Michael Williams. Investigation later revealed that Williams died from severe pulmonary edema, while Estrada’s death was classified as murder. Estrada’s post-mortem examination revealed that she suffered a blow to the head.
For Estrada’s family, the recent growing public discussion has added another layer of distress as they try to cope with her death and care for the young son Estrada left behind.
Estrada’s aunt, Juanita Vanegas, says the family is asking for privacy as they grieve. Vanegas indicated that the person behind the livestream was going too far. “They just can’t let my niece rest in peace,” she said.
Vanegas said the family is also dealing with the practical realities of caring for Estrada’s son, including trying to move him to a school closer to his family. She says the family has started a fundraiser to help provide for the child.
“All we are asking now is just give us as family the time where we need to grieve because she never had no right to do a live and show mattress or anything when my sister went and talked to her the day before,” Vanegas said.
She added, “Let my niece rest in peace. If she cannot do that, then we will have to file a report against her ’cause it was a big thing on Facebook and TikTok yesterday.”
