DJ Khris Pleads Guilty in Officer’s Death
Businessman Khris Rosado, owner of Thirsty Thursday, has admitted to causing the death of police constable Arcenio Cus in a highway collision that occurred nearly eleven months ago.
Cus was knocked down and killed on July 28, 2025. Rosado accepted responsibility for his careless conduct.
Attorney Dr. Lynden Jones represented Rosado at the hearing. Crown Counsel Maria Nembhard-Santana appeared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
PC Cus, 38, of Silver Creek Village, was traveling by motorcycle from Ladyville toward Belize City when a black vehicle crossed into his lane and struck him. The collision threw him from his motorcycle and left him with severe head and abdominal injuries. He was rushed to Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where he later died.
Five charges were originally filed against Rosado in the case: manslaughter by negligence, causing death by careless conduct, driving without due care and attention, failure to stop and render aid, and failure to report an accident. A Magistrate’s Court committal sent Rosado to stand trial on the manslaughter charge, but prosecutors ultimately proceeded in the High Court on an indictment of causing death by careless conduct, which he has now pleaded guilty.
