Hundreds Join March To Raise Cancer Awareness
Hundreds of Belizeans hit the road before sunrise on Saturday, turning the stretch from Ladyville to Belize City into a sea of neon for Cancer Walk 2026. Survivors, families, and supporters marched shoulder to shoulder under the theme “Early Detection. Equal Access. End Cancer.” But this year’s event carried added weight. It comes amid growing concern over the Catholic Diocese’s objection to the HPV vaccine in its schools, a vaccine widely seen as key to preventing cervical cancer. It stood as a powerful call for education, early screening, equal access to care, and stronger cancer prevention efforts nationwide. Here are the sights and sounds from Cancer Walk 2026.
