Johnson Foundation Turns Stories into Scholarships
It’s officially back to school season and for more than thirty students across Belize, the return to the classrooms is being made that much easier thanks to the work of the N. Johnson Foundation. Through the generous support of book sales and community donations, the foundation, established by Nicole Johnson and co-founded by attorney Monica Stuart, is sponsoring six students with scholarships, school bags, and essential supplies, while providing over thirty additional students with backpacks and classroom materials. The foundation also contributed direct support to schools, ensuring that both students and teachers have resources they need to successfully kick off the new school year. Funding for the organization’s mission began with proceeds from Johnson’s novels, stories of resilience and healing through fiction. As the foundation continues to grow, it hopes to expand its reach to provide mental wellness workshops for students and families in Belize.
