Noh Matta Wat Returns for Season 5!
Belizean television drama Noh Matta Wat returns for its fifth season with a red-carpet premiere at the Bliss Centre for the Performing Arts on Saturday, October 17, ahead of its planned television debut in November.
Producer Denvor Fairweather says the new season has been about a year in the making, following the show’s 20th-anniversary celebration in November 2025.
The premiere begins at 7 p.m. and will feature the first episode of Season 5, followed by a cast meet-and-greet. Fairweather says the season is expected to begin airing on television during the week of November 16.
The new season revisits the Diego family 16 years later, bringing back familiar characters while introducing new faces and storylines.
“A lot of the drama extends from Lysanne’s family,” Fairweather said. “She was a teenager back then. She’s now a parent herself with teenage kids.”
Fairweather also brought in Theodore Mark Martinez, a Belizean actor with professional experience in the United States, to work with the cast in a workshop.
Martinez plays Hill Michaels, a judge whose storyline touches on relationships and social issues. “Everyone can relate to it. It could be your neighbor,” he said.
Martinez also believes the series can introduce Belize to wider audiences. “People out there are hungry for Belize,” he said. “When stuff like this comes up, I know they’re gonna eat it up.”
For Fairweather, the new season is also part of a broader effort to develop Belize’s entertainment industry. He hopes the series can reach regional and international audiences and generate revenue for future projects, including a film titled Clutches, which Fairweather hopes to finance through the success of the new season.
Tickets for Saturday’s premiere are advertised at $25 and can be purchased at the Bliss Center.
