Paralyzed at 11, Husband at 18: Kyron Green Rewrites His Story
For Kyron and Sharlette Green, love isn’t just a feeling, it’s a daily act of resilience. At eighteen, Kyron is navigating adulthood from a wheelchair after a childhood shooting left him paralyzed. But instead of letting that moment define his future, he’s stepping into new roles, husband and father, alongside the girl who has stood by him through it all. Their Belize City home is now the setting for a story that goes beyond survival, focusing instead on commitment, growth, and hope. Today, News Five’s Paul Lopez paid the young family a visit to see how they’re building a life together, on their own terms.
Eighteen-year-old Kyron Green and nineteen-year-old Sharlette Green are stepping into married life, with their first child expected any day now, and their journey together is anything but ordinary. Back in 2019, what should have been a quick run to a neighborhood shop changed everything. Kyron got caught in the middle of a gang crossfire, leaving him paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair. But years later, he’s not defined by that moment. Instead, he’s building a future, one centered on love, family, and determination, with Sharlette right by his side.
