Ranchito Woman Charged After Trying to Dump Crack

More than twenty grams of suspected crack cocaine, an alleged attempt to dispose of the evidence and two criminal charges. That is what police say resulted from a search operation at the Ranchito Village home of thirty-eight-year-old Sandra Pineda. She now faces charges of drug trafficking and obstruction after officers reportedly recovered the suspected drugs. ASP Stacy Smith tells us what happened when police arrived.

“Police have formally arrested and charged thirty-eight-year-old Sandra Pineda of Ranchito Village, Corozal District, for the offense of possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply. The arresting officers reported that upon approaching the residence and identifying themselves as police officers, a female came to the door, subsequently identified as Pineda, and upon seeing the police officers, she threw object from her hand, and when that object was retrieved, it was observed to contain suspected crack cocaine amounting to 20.31 grams. As a consequence of this conduct, Ms. Pineda was additionally charged for obstruction.”
