A Spooky Experience for Belize City

Today’s episode of Open Your Eyes featured the Rotary Club of Belize Sunrise and its upcoming Haunted Warehouse, a Halloween attraction designed to bring a new kind of frightful experience to Belize City. Joining the conversation were Victoria Tun, PR and Fundraising Committee Member, and Kelsie Garbutt, Public Image Chair, who shared how the idea came together and what visitors can expect.

Inspired by haunted attractions and theme parks experienced abroad, the Rotary team set out to create something different for the local community. After approximately a month and a half of preparation, the warehouse has been transformed with animated props, live scare actors, and spooky surprises designed to give visitors an immersive haunted experience.

More Than Just a Scare

While the Haunted Warehouse promises thrills for Halloween enthusiasts, it also serves a larger purpose. The event is a fundraising initiative for the Rotary Club of Belize Sunrise, with proceeds supporting its community service projects.

The club focuses on youth development and education, including supporting primary schools across Belize City, improving school infrastructure, and providing playgrounds. Its initiatives also include environmental and community projects that respond to local needs. The representatives also highlighted the club’s recent scholarship initiative, which welcomed eight new scholarship students through its partnership with Puma.

Event Details and What Visitors Should Know

The Haunted Warehouse is scheduled for Friday, October 30, and Saturday, October 31, from 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with the last entry at 9:45 p.m. Admission costs $20 per person, and tickets can be purchased in advance at Pink Boutique, Stationery House, the Puma Roundabout on Faber’s Road, or through members of the Rotary Club of Belize Sunrise.

The attraction is located near the Puma Roundabout along the Faber’s Road extension, next to an empty parking lot. Organizers noted that police will be present on both nights and that safety measures have been considered, including ensuring scare actors do not touch visitors.

Guests are encouraged to come in costume and can also enjoy treat booths and other stalls outside the attraction. Visitors should bring extra cash if they wish to purchase refreshments and treats.

With a combination of Halloween entertainment and community fundraising, the Haunted Warehouse offers Belizeans an opportunity to enjoy the spooky season while contributing to the Rotary Club of Belize Sunrise’s ongoing service projects.
