San Pedro Teacher Convicted, Sentenced to 18 Months

A San Pedro educator has been convicted and sentenced in connection with a criminal case involving three students. The teacher, a forty-seven‑year‑old Alex Noralez, a resident of the Boca del Rio area, was found guilty on two of three counts following a trial that concluded earlier this month. He was acquitted on the third count. A magistrate handed down two prison terms of eighteen months each, but because they will run concurrently, he is expected to serve eighteen months in total. The defendant, who maintained his innocence throughout the trial, was represented by attorney Ronell Gonzalez. This marks his first conviction of this kind. Sentencing took place before a San Pedro magistrate who expressed doubt regarding one of the charges, resulting in the acquittal on that count.
