Stella Maris Students Receive Early Easter Treats
Easter is around the corner, but not every child gets a beach trip or a basket of treats. So today, Jason Edwards of Belize N Me Jungle Sea teamed up with Alaia Belize to surprise one hundred and forty students at Stella Maris with Easter baskets. The gifts lit up the kids’ day, and Edwards hopes others will step in to spread the joy. Principal Doreth Pascasio‑Griffith says she’s determined to make sure every student gets to feel part of the Easter celebration.

“It was a collective effort between myself and Alaiah Belize and Mr. Johnson, who is a private donor came together. We decided we wanted to bless the kids with a Easter basket at Stella Marris. Lot of the kids that are here are not fortunate to have an Easter basket so we went ahead and solicited with the guidance of the principal and we were fortunate to get enough for each one of the students that are here today.”

“How many easter baskets?”
Jason Edwards
“A hundred and forty.”

“And what’s your message to others who would like to do similar donations?”
Jason Edwards
“Well put your money where your heart is. Try to help the less fortunate. Try to help out our kids. Our kids are the future of our country and let us show how much we love and appreciate them.”

“For me it is very important because you know it’s easter time. When these kids go home and they go to the supermarket they see other kids getting eater basket. So if I the principal of Stella Marris School can provide these before they go home, at least they have a basket that was provided by the institution.”

“What else will we be having here today?”
Doreth Pascasio-Griffith
“Also today we’re going to have an easter egg hunt for the kids, which is going to be done by the Rotary Club. So we’re going to have that activity here today for the kids. Fun activity for them before we end off for the Easter session.”
