Nationwide Drug Crackdown Nets Five Suspects

Police have charged five people in separate drug operations conducted across the country over the past week, resulting in the seizure of varying quantities of cocaine and crack cocaine. The largest seizure occurred in Belize City, where officers discovered one thousand grams of cocaine. The arrests, made between September fourteenth and nineteenth, occurred in San Ignacio, Belize City and San Pedro, with all five suspects facing charges of possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply following searches of homes and vehicles by law enforcement officers. ASP Stacy Smith shares more details on the operations.

“On Monday September fourteenth September 2026 twenty-five-year-old Jose Rash was charged with the offense of possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply after a search of his residence located in San Ignacio, resulting in the discovery of three point three grams of cocaine. On Tuesday, fifteenth September 2026 police formally arrested and charged Brandon Eze for the offense of possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply after a search of his vehicle that was traveling on Coney Drive, being driven by him, by members of the GI3, resulted in the discovery of one thousand grams of cocaine. On Saturday, nineteenth September 2026, police in San Pedro formally arrested and charged seventy-five-year-old Dennis Galinas for the offense of possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply. This arrest follows the search of his residence, which resulted in the discovery of one point nine one grams of suspected cocaine. And also on Saturday, officers attached to the Special Tactical Response team formally arrested and jointly charged 45-year-old Jaime Gutierrez, twenty-one-year-old Doris Vasquez, and forty-year-old Elvira Mejia for the offense of possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply after a search of their residence resulted in the discovery of two point seven grams of crack cocaine.”

 

The operations executed between fourteenth and twentieth September this year.
