Deadly Stabbing Ends in Ralph Martinez’s Arrest Within 24 Hours

The family of fifty-six-year-old Mark Longsworth continues to mourn and plan his funeral tonight. But they are one step closer to getting justice for the murder of their loved one. Police have moved swiftly in a deadly stabbing in Belize City early Monday morning. The victim, Longsworth, was found injured near the corner of Mopan and Ebony streets and rushed to the KHMH, where he later died. By Tuesday evening, investigators charged fifty-three-year-old Ralph Sherlock Martinez Sr. with murder. Martinez was detained shortly after the incident, and police say they’re continuing to piece together what led to the fatal attack.
