Belize Showcases Maritime Strength at Global Expo

Belize is showcasing its maritime and financial services at one of the world’s biggest shipping expos. A national delegation is in Athens, Greece for Posidonia 2026, a major international event that brings together key players in the global shipping industry. Officials say Belize is using the platform to promote everything from ship registration to financial services under one integrated offering.  At the center of that pitch is the Belize Ship Registry, which now includes more than 800 vessels worldwide, backed by a network of international representatives. The event also marks the international debut of IMMARBE’s new Managing Director, Abilio Domínguez, as Belize pushes to strengthen partnerships and expand its presence in the maritime sector. Officials say the goal is clear: boost Belize’s visibility, attract new business, and position the country as a competitive player in global shipping and financial services.
