Cluck, Cluck… Pay Up: Chicken Prices Rise

Belizeans will now pay more for chicken after the Belize Poultry Association announced a price adjustment driven by rising production costs.

The Association said the price of whole chicken has increased by 12 cents per pound, effective July 6, 2026. It attributed the increase to higher costs for key inputs, including grains such as corn and soybeans, fuel, and poultry premixes used in production.

Consumers can also expect increases in the prices of other poultry products, with the Association noting that adjustments will vary depending on the cut or processed product.

The Belize Poultry Association said the price hike was necessary to offset the continued rise in production costs and thanked the public for its continued support of the local poultry industry.
