Another Young Man Found Murdered 

Police are investigating the murder of 19-year-old Jamir “Jam” Cambranes, a Belizean technician of Euphrates Avenue in Belize City. His body was discovered along the Burrell Boom/Hattieville Road with gunshot wounds.

Cambranes had left home on Tuesday night on a bicycle to meet two men travelling in a silver Chevy Equinox. He was last heard from shortly after.

According to police, officers responded to reports of a shooting at around 1 o’clock on Wednesday morning.

Police say Cambranes’s girlfriend was able to track his phone to a location along the roadside, where his brother and brother-in-law searched the area and found his body in nearby bushes with multiple gunshot wounds.

Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage. No arrests have been made.

Meanwhile, family and friends have shared their grief with Garay, with one stating, “Stay strong sister.”

Cambranes’s murder adds to a growing list of recent killings and missing persons cases in Belize. Among them are the murders of 24-year-old deliveryman Steve Lewis of Dangriga, 17-year-old Alwin Marin Jr, and 19-year-old Jaheil Westby of Belize City.

Jericho Humes of Dangriga was also reported missing before being found dead, while 23-year-old Lidahni Martinez and 28-year-old Deborah “Bree” Arthurs remain missing.
