Belize Made Its Pitch to Investors and Diplomats in Washington

A trade and investment showcase held in Washington, D.C. brought together diplomats, business leaders, investors, and members of the Belizean diaspora to learn more about what Belize offers beyond tourism.

The event was organized by BELTRAIDE in partnership with the Embassy of Belize in Washington and formed part of the Passport DC celebrations, a month-long cultural program in the United States capital.

Belize’s ambassador to the United States, Nestor Mendez, spoke at the opening of the event about strengthening ties between Belize and the United States through trade and investment, while BELTRAIDE Executive Director Ishmael Quiroz laid out what Belize has to offer investors.

“Belize continues to position itself as a country of opportunity, innovation, sustainability, and authentic experiences,” Quiroz told the room.

The event ended with a networking session where attendees spoke directly with BELTRAIDE teams about investment and export opportunities while sampling rums from Copalli and Traveller’s Liquors Ltd.
