BREAKING: One Suspect Shot, Two Detained After Home Invasion

Police are investigating a reported home invasion in Cristo Rey Village that led to the apprehension of two suspects, one of whom was shot during the incident.

According to information received, the home invasion occurred on Thursday afternoon. Residents alerted authorities, prompting a swift response from police officers based in Santa Elena. The suspects reportedly fled the area shortly after the crime was committed.

Authorities launched an immediate search operation with assistance from members of the local Neighborhood Watch group, who helped direct officers along feeder roads in and around the village.

Reports indicate that one suspect was quickly apprehended by police. A second suspect was reportedly shot during the pursuit but managed to escape. However, he later sought medical treatment at the San Ignacio Community Hospital, where authorities were able to locate him.

The injured suspect was subsequently transferred to Belmopan and remains under police guard while receiving medical attention.
