Canadian Family Hails KHMH Care as World-Class
For years, stories about Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital have often centered on complaints about long waits, overcrowding or patient concerns. But this week, the country’s national referral hospital is receiving praise from a patient’s family for what they describe as lifesaving care. Amber Pullman shared her experience on social media after her husband suffered what doctors called a massive heart attack earlier this month. According to Pullman, her husband was initially treated at a private hospital before being transferred to KHMH when they were unable to immediately cover the cost of care. What followed, she says, exceeded all expectations. Pullman credits the hospital’s Cardiac Unit, intensive care staff and resident cardiologist Dr. Lin with saving her husband’s life through a complex heart procedure and around-the-clock care. The Canadian national says she was particularly impressed by the professionalism of the doctors and nurses, describing the quality of care as equal to and in some respects better than what she has experienced in Canada. Pullman says while KHMH may lack the luxury appearance of some private facilities, its staff demonstrated what mattered most during a medical emergency: competence, compassion and dedication to patient care. Now recovering at home, her husband continues to improve, and Pullman says she remains deeply grateful to the doctors, nurses, and support staff who guided her family through what she calls the most frightening experience of their lives.
