Cawich Dismisses “Richie” Galvez as Viable Political Opponent

The political battle for Belmopan is already heating up, and Mayor Pablo Cawich is taking direct aim at his UDP opponent, “Richie” Galvez. Cawich says Galvez is not a viable choice for the Capital City and argues that promises of a “New Era” cannot erase his record as a former city councilor. Here is how the mayor sized up his challenger.

“I don’t follow Richie’s movements or events, so I don’t know what he is attracting. I know what we are doing and we are ensuring that we are working for positivity and development of the city.”

Paul Lopez

“How do you view his candidacy in light of your bid for a second term?”

Pablo Cawich

“As I mentioned I am not concerned about him. I am maintaining my focus on our team and the works we have pending for the city.”

Paul Lopez

“Some critics are arguing that he is the most viable candidate the UDP has put up in Belmopan for some time. Do you agree with that?”

Pablo Cawich

“No, I don’t agree with that. I will also add that he was a part of the previous UDP administration which left this municipality in a very terrible state. They sold out a lot of the public lands as well as some streets and parks. So, in terms of viability, I don’t see him as a viable candidate.”
