Drive-By Shooting in Orange Walk Ends With Two in Police Custody

Police have two people in custody following a shooting in Orange Walk on Sunday night that left Brian Diaz with gunshot injuries.

During this morning’s press briefing, ACP Hilberto Romero, Head of the National Crimes Investigation Branch, said Diaz was inside a pickup truck with another man around 11:30pm when two people on a motorcycle approached and fired at the vehicle.

Diaz “is presently admitted at the hospital and he is stable condition”, Romero added.

Police investigation indicates that the shooting stems from a personal dispute Diaz had with another man in Orange Walk. Romero said no prior report had been filed on the dispute.
