Motorcycle Passenger Killed in San Pedro RTA

Thirty-three-year-old San Pedro resident Gilberto Noble is dead after a motorcycle collided with a golf cart on Pescador Drive in San Pedro Town late Thursday night. 

According to investigators, Noble was seated at the rear of a red Lifan motorcycle driven by 23-year-old Vincent Donaji Canul. Police say the motorcycle was travelling south when Canul attempted to overtake a yellow golf cart. The crash occurred shortly before 11 p.m.

Noble sustained fatal head injuries and was transported to the San Pedro Polyclinic, where he was pronounced dead. Canul sustained injuries to his right foot and was also taken to the polyclinic for medical attention.

Video from the scene showed emergency responders placing Canul on a stretcher before transporting him from the area. Noble remained on the ground as police processed the scene.

Police have issued notices of intended prosecution to both drivers. A blood sample was obtained from Canul.
