Out on Bail, Nichole McDonald Faces Multiple Court Battles

After more than three months behind bars, mother of five Nichole Gilda McDonald is out on eight-hundred-dollar bail and says she is eager to reunite with her children. McDonald had been on remand since June eighth, after authorities accused her of assaulting a doctor and nurse at the Matron Roberts Polyclinic. The arrest allegedly breached bail conditions in an earlier common assault case. As part of her release, McDonald must report to police weekly and avoid any new charges. Her harm case involving Dr. Andre Castillo is set for trial on October twenty-first. McDonald says she spent three months, two weeks and one day in prison, including time in isolation. While incarcerated, she completed anger-management sessions through the Ashcroft Rehabilitation Program. She maintains her innocence but says the program taught her valuable lessons. McDonald also faces several other charges, including assault, wounding, property damage, insulting words and a cybercrime allegation involving former Commissioner of Police Chester Williams. She has pleaded not guilty, is representing herself and says she will challenge every allegation at trial.
