Sand Hill Chef Accused in Sex Case Involving Minor Boy

A Sand Hill woman is behind bars tonight after being accused of having sexual intercourse with a fifteen-year-old boy. While cases involving adult men and underage girls often make headlines, police say this case involves a thirty-seven-year-old woman who allegedly had sex with a minor twice on the same day. Sherise Shelmadine Moralez, a chef of Mile Nineteen on the Philip Goldson Highway, appeared before the Chief Magistrate this morning to answer two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse. Investigators allege that on July thirtieth, 2026, Moralez had sexual intercourse with a fifteen-year-old boy, then eight months shy of his sixteenth birthday, on two separate occasions. Represented by attorney Orson “OJ” Elrington, Moralez was not required to enter a plea because the charges are indictable. Elrington asked the court to exercise its discretion and grant bail, but the prosecution argued that the alleged victim is a minor and that the court was restricted from granting bail under the law. After hearing both sides, the Chief Magistrate denied bail and remanded Moralez to the Belize Central Prison. She is scheduled to return to court on November 16, when disclosure is expected to be provided in the case. According to police, the investigation began after the fifteen-year-old, accompanied by his mother, reported the matter at the Ladyville Police Station on August sixth. Officers recorded a statement from the minor and launched an investigation. Moralez was detained on August twenty-third and later interviewed under caution in the presence of a Justice of the Peace, where police say she denied the allegations. Following the investigation, she was formally charged with two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse on Monday.
