RevUP Caribbean Launches Applications for Business Incubation Programme Cohort 8
From Angel Investing to Startup Acceleration
RevUP Caribbean is inviting applications for its Cohort 8 Business Incubation Programme, as it continues its mission to strengthen entrepreneurship across the region. Speaking on Open Your Eyes, Managing Director Sancha Glasgow explained that the initiative was developed from years of experience in startup investing and the need to better prepare founders for long-term business success.
She traced the origins of RevUP to First Angels Caribbean, an angel investor network created to improve access to early-stage funding. While the network has supported several regional businesses, it became clear that many founders lacked the operational, financial, and strategic skills needed to scale after receiving investment.
Building Investment-Ready Entrepreneurs
Launched in 2021, RevUP Caribbean was designed to address that gap by preparing entrepreneurs to become investment-ready. Glasgow noted that many founders are strong in product development or service delivery but often struggle with scaling, governance, and financial management—key areas required to attract and retain investors.
The programme focuses on core areas such as business valuation, intellectual property protection, systems development, and investor relations. The goal is to ensure entrepreneurs understand both how to grow their businesses and how to meet investor expectations in competitive markets.
Regional Reach and Cohort 8 Expansion
To date, RevUP Caribbean has supported 183 founders across the region, with Cohort 7 nearing completion. Cohort 8, scheduled to begin on July 27, will introduce a blended model combining RevUP’s structured incubation programme with the Bridge for Billions platform, allowing for self-paced learning alongside weekly mentorship and in-person engagement.
The programme is open to startups across sectors including tech, agriculture, energy, and services. It targets businesses that already show traction and revenue potential, with a strong focus on growth-oriented founders rather than lifestyle businesses.
Applications Now Open for Belizean Entrepreneurs
RevUP Caribbean is accepting 30 entrepreneurs across the region for Cohort 8 and is encouraging Belizean founders to apply before the June 30 deadline via RevUpCaribbean.com. Glasgow expressed hope that at least five Belizean entrepreneurs will be selected for this cycle.
She emphasized that the programme goes beyond funding, offering mentorship, networks, and practical business development support over five months. As applications open, RevUP continues to position itself as a key driver of startup growth and innovation across the Caribbean.
