Santa Cruz Labourer Latest Murder Victim

Police in Dangriga are investigating the murder of Luis Martinez from Santa Cruz Village, Stann Creek. Officers responded to reports of a body lying near the road in the Maya King area on Friday morning.

Martinez was discovered with multiple gunshot injuries. His body was transported to the Dangriga morgue.

The circumstances surrounding the killing remain unclear, and police have not released further details as the investigation continues.

The case comes amid a growing list of recent violent incidents across the country, including the murders of Belize City’s 19-year-old Jamir “Jam” Cambranes, 17-year-old Alwin Marin Jr, and 19-year-old Jaheil Westby; and 24-year-old deliveryman Steve Lewis of Dangriga. Jericho Humes was also reported missing before being found dead, while 23-year-old Lidahni Martinez and 28-year-old Deborah “Bree” Arthurs are still unaccounted for.
