“As a consequence of that investigation, which is still ongoing, police have formally arrested and charged a sixteen-year-old male minor as well as thirty-one-year-old Emerson West for the crime of murder. They were jointly charged for the crime of murder. This investigation was greatly advanced through the use of technology located at the Crime Fusion and Operation Center which captured the incident as well as the aftermath. The motive as it relates to this incident has so far established or suggested to be intergang rivalry. These types of incidents prove to be most challenging to police because there are persons who are intimately familiar with the mode of operation of each other and they generally operate within a tight area. So policing these incidents are more challenging, however we remain committed and we are pursuing all leads available and using all resources.”
