Police Looking for One Man For Recent Murder
Police are seeking one man in relation to the murder of 24-year-old deliveryman Steve Lewis of Dangriga Town.
Lewis was last seen last Monday morning after leaving home for what was described as a routine delivery job. He was reported missing the day after by his common-law wife.
Lewis’s decomposed body was discovered days later, along a feeder road off the Thomas Vincent Ramos Highway near Silk Grass Village.
An expended shell was recovered at the scene. Assistant Superintendent of Police Stacy Smith told reporters, “I can say that we suspect the cause to be a gunshot injury, given that an expended shell was found on the scene.”
Police are now examining communication linked to the delivery request after earlier reports that Lewis allegedly received a call to make a delivery to Silk Grass Village before disappearing.
“We are following up on the level of communication that he had during that time to see how that can assist with the investigation,” ASP Smith added.
His mother, Suceli Lewis, told News 5 last week, “The young man called him from Lake Land to do a delivery and the young man told him to bring a cover up helmet. So my baby went to look for a cover up helmet and gone pick up the person and shoot out of Dangriga.”
