Young Man Charged with Murder
Four days after 19-year-old Jamir Cambranes was found dead along Boom/Hattieville Road, police have made an arrest. 19-year-old Kenrick Lindbergh Robinson, a Belizean construction worker from Belize City, was charged with his murder.
Cambranes was last seen alive on the night of Tuesday, April 21st, when he left his home on Euphrates Avenue on his bicycle to meet two men for a ride in a silver Chevy Equinox. At some point during the ride, Cambranes shared his location with his girlfriend, something his uncle described as out of character for him.
For hours, calls and text messages went unanswered. When his girlfriend noticed his location had not moved, she raised the alarm with his brother, who got on a motorcycle and went looking for him. Cambranes was found murdered.
He became one of several young men whose disappearance and death rattled Belize City in recent weeks.
