A thirty-three-year-old Belizean technician, Gilberto Noble, is dead following a collision in San Pedro late Thursday night. According to police, the crash occurred around eleven o’clock along Pescador Drive, where officers found Noble unconscious on the street with severe head injuries. Investigations revealed that he was riding as a rear passenger on a red Lifan motorcycle driven by Vincent Canul when the accident happened. Police say Canul was south bound and attempted to overtake a golf cart, driven by Demas Zelaya, in front of Atlantic Bank when the collision occurred. The motorcycle reportedly crashed into the front left fender of the golf cart after it made a slight left turn, causing both riders to fall onto the road. Noble was rushed to the San Pedro Polyclinic, where he later succumbed to his injuries shortly after midnight, while Canul was treated for injuries to his right foot. Police have since issued notices of intended prosecution to both drivers as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision.
